It’s some point in the future.  There has been a third world war that has crippled the world.  The cause is determined to be human emotion.  Which is there after outlawed.

It’s an interesting concept if nothing else.  While watching I was amused at the level of violence and slaughter utilized by the singular world government for the purpose of preventing further war, violence and slaughter.  Christian Bale stars and is flanked by a solid cast and good acting by Sean Bean, Dominic Purcell, William Fichtner, Taye Diggs and Emily Watson to name a few.  Bales’ character is not only dressed similarly but has the same stoic personality as that of Keanu Reeves’ Neo in The Matrix.  In fact the over all feel of the movie, the set, and the battle scenes seem to be right out of the Matrix play book.  In spite of this and the high level of violence, this is an enjoyable movie.  Certainly not an award contender, but a good watch.
