This movie is based on a true story, set in 1933 Alabama.

It's about 9 black men being retried for raping two white women on a train.  Timothy Hutton stars as New York City Attorney Sam Leibowitz who is asked, and accepts the case.  It's a griping story of the atypical racial inequality of the south back during that time.  I'm not going to get into the story line because this is a must see.  Unlike other movies of it's type, you won't find the typical scenes of violence.  It's a picture of a man fighting a great battle for freedom.
